Welcome to Smiling Eyes Ranch where everyday there’s something new to smile about

I moved to Montana from New Hampshire in 2005 with the intention of buying some land and getting a few horses.  While looking through a Hobby Farms magazine I saw an ad for alpacas. I instantly fell in love with them and the horse idea went right out the window! 

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     My first purchase was in February of 2006, when I brought home two maiden females. At the end of 2009, my two will have turned into fifteen, and I can’t imagine spending my time doing anything else.

The goal of Smiling Eyes Ranch is to breed huacayas of all colors and to improve on their fiber with each and every breeding.
